Storm & claims

An insurance claim,
without the runaround.

Central Texas sits in hail alley. If a storm damaged your roof, here's how a claim actually works, what it costs you, and where we help.

The claim, step by step

Five steps from storm to new roof.

  1. 01

    Free inspection

We document the damage with photos and test squares. If there isn't enough damage for a claim, we tell you, and you don't file.

  2. 02

    You file the claim

You call your insurer with the date of the storm. We give you the report and a hail-size record to attach.

  3. 03

    Adjuster inspection

We meet the adjuster on the roof so nothing gets missed: gutters, vents, flashing, ridge and soft metals.

  4. 04

    Approved scope

Your insurer sends the scope of work. We build to it, line by line, and explain any supplement before it's sent.

  5. 05

    Build and close out

One-day install, a final photo set, and the paperwork your insurer needs to release any withheld depreciation.

Straight talk

What we will and won't do.

We will

  • Tell you honestly if there isn't a claim
  • Meet your adjuster on the roof
  • Build exactly to the approved scope
  • Give you every photo we take

We won't

  • Waive or cover your deductible; that's illegal in Texas
  • Knock on doors after a storm
  • Ask you to sign before the inspection
  • Start work before your claim is approved
Questions

Claim questions we hear every week.

How long do I have to file after a hailstorm?

It depends on your policy, often one to two years. Filing sooner is easier: the damage is fresh and the storm data is easy to match.

Will a claim raise my premium?

Weather claims are treated differently from liability claims by most insurers, but ask your agent. We'll give you the report either way.

What is withheld depreciation?

Many policies pay part of the claim up front and the rest after the roof is replaced. We send your insurer the final invoice and photos to release it.

What if the adjuster misses damage?

We document everything first. If the scope misses items, we submit a supplement with photos and measurements.
